Cover: Quick-freeze/Deep-Etch image of 76-year-olds's macular Bruch's membrane, fixed within 4 hours of death. The fracture plane passes up and down between the RPE basement membrane and the inner collagenous layer of Bruch's membrane, revealing a densely packed "wall" of 80-nm lipid-rich particles that have accumulated with age.
