Cover: Microglial cells in the nerve fiber layer of a rabbit retina which was experimentally detached for 48 hours. An acutely isolated retinal wholemount was stained with CY3-tagged Griffonia simplicifolia agglutinin as an immune cell marker (red) and with Fura-Red (blue) and viewed at the vitreal surface. The elongated structures are nerve fibers. See Uhlmann et al. on page 4114 of this issue.
