Cover: SEM of inner collagen layer from an 84-year-old donor. Chemical cleaning removed most of the lipoproteinaceous debris from the aged matrix, leaving gaps between collagen fibers. Chemical treatment can also break cross-links between collagen fibers and yield individual fibers. Such treatment reverses the dismal fate of human RPE on deeper layers of aged Bruch's membrane and allows its repopulation. Please see Tezel et al. on page 3337 of this issue.
