About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Transmission electron micrograph taken at 20,000× magnification of the developing chick corneal stroma at day 14 of embryogenesis. A bundle of collagen that appears to be newly extruded into the extracellular milieu contains fibrils that are decorated with 10 nm gold particles. This indicates that the fibrils are already associated with high-sulfated keratan sulfate as recognized by monoclonal antibody 5D4. Image modified from Figure 2D by magnification, rotation and application of pseudocolor. Please see Young et al. on page 3083 of this issue.
