26. INSERT & BRC REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Size: 8-3/8" x 11-1/8". This includes 1/8" trim from top, bottom, edges, and gutter. Multiple page inserts supplied folded. Inserts requiring back up must be supplied flat.
  2. BRCs: Minimum size: 4" x 5". Must be 3/8" from perforation to binding edge. Allow 3/16" head trim and 1/8" gutter trim. Jogs to the top. Minimum card stock: .007. Reply part must meet USPS regulations.
  3. Keep live matter at least 1/2" from trim.
  4. Submit a sample of proposed insert to the ARVO Sales Deparment for approval.
  5. Stockweight: Maximum for single leaf: 100 lb. textweight, or multiple leaf: 80 lb. textweight. Multiple leaf inserts over 4 pages must be delivered to the printer folded and sealed at the head (unless spot glued) for proper binding.
  6. Quantity and closing date: Contact the sales{at}arvo.org.
  7. Carton packing preferred - quantity, publication and issue must be marked on outside of carton.
  8. A service charge will be rendered for special printer services or unusual inserts which cause bindery slowdowns or incur additional printer charges. All such requests must be submitted prior to printing for approval. Consult the sales{at}arvo.org for rates and more information.

All reproduction materials must have register marks, center marks, and trim marks clearly indicated. Each negative must be clearly marked for color. Color ads must be accompanied by two sets of progressive proofs with final proofs or Chromalin/Matchprint proofs.
    Color rotation: Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow.
    Maximum color density for 2/c - 160%, 4/c - 280%.
